Automated Packaging Systems is to launch the FAS Sprint Revolution flexible packaging system for the food industry at the Interpack trade fair.
The FAS Sprint Revolution is said to combine flexibility, efficiency and reliability in a system equipped to operate in clean environments requiring daily washdown.
The company said the system will appeal to individual quick-frozen (IQF) food producers as well as those packing fresh fruits and vegetables, dried foods and confectionary.
It uses single-source recyclable packing, which will be of interest to food producers and processers that want to minimize the volume and weight of food packaging without compromising brand value and product security.
Automated Packaging Systems has engineered the system to deliver flexibility, traceability and high-end branding for short- and medium-length product runs.
Operating at speeds up to 22m/min, FAS Sprint Revolution is claimed to represent a simple and efficient step up from hand bagging, enabling food producers to pack up to six times faster than by hand.
The operator can complete bag changeovers in minutes and the whole system can be commissioned and decommissioned quickly, meeting demands from seasonal producers and packers handling a wider range of product lines.
The FAS Sprint Revolution presents a conveyor of pre-opened bags ready for loading.
The 1.5m-wide load area features a 150mm pass-through that tilts vertically for easy maintenance and cleaning, and a co-ordinated motion seal flattener is coupled with a band sealing system to ensure high-quality bag seals.
The system has been designed for ease of operation, serviceability, integration and reliability, featuring an integrated Allen-Bradley control package with Kinetix servo motors and drives, a Compactlogix L45 PLC, and a large, 250mm Panelview Plus human-machine interface.
The Autotouch control software displays real-time productivity data and provides easy access to job storage, job recall and on-board system diagnostics.
Sidepouch bags offer features such as resealable openings and tamper-evident perforations.
They are available in a range of materials that can be pre-printed in up to seven colors with high-resolution graphics, text and barcodes. |
